For those of you who have watched my videos before or connected with me on Facebook, you might know that I'm not a fan of influencer marketing. I have very strong feelings about it in fact. With the launch of my new candle business, I decided to open the window to influencer marketing and see if it would change my mind. Watch here to see how it went, what results came of it and what the REAL key to influencer marketing is. It's not what you think! #influencer #marketing #results

Ashley, thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. I am 52 yrs old, so all this social media “thing” is kind of foreign and intimidating (especially IG). I have used social media for years, but using it for business is a completely different ball game. I felt so accomplished when I put together my first reels without my kids’ help! Your AHA moment opened my eyes. Thank you!!!

I’m so glad this helps you! Please let me know if you have any other questions as I get social media more than I probably should at times! It takes a lot of my bandwidth unfortunately.

This is a great video- love your Aha moment! I think, moving forward, you’re going to gain way more by word of mouth and organic traffic! Good idea to utilize the customers you already have!

So glad you made this video! For my own candle business I have worked with five influencers so far… probably have gained 6 followers and absolutely no sales. This last influencer I will be giving one last go I paid 50 dollars for a post and a story. I have a feeling it won’t work either but I thought to give it a try. Truly, our customers are the best influencers out there for us!

Hi Ashley. I watch your videos when I can and…I just love you for info you share but especially for your transparency. I think you’re fun, simple, and professional. Thank you for telling us about your experience with influencers…definitely something to take a good look at.

It could potentially get more but stories are really nice to make quick decisions and call to actions. They are very direct and to the website. But who knows

i totally agree. i have them asking me all the time if i want to use them. i want be using them as i feel its not worth the money but maybe if they change mind mind i will consider.

The more targeted your niche, the better defined your ideal customer, the better you will do with influencers whose followers are your clearly defined ideal customer. “People who like Home Decor” is way too generic – is that people who subscribe to Country Living Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, Dwell, or Architectural Digest? Do they shop for home decor at thrift shops, IKEA, or West Elm? If you don’t know who your customer is, and your branding isn’t bottom-of-the-funnel specific, then influencers and FB ads will never be a good ROI.
